I am just beginning my search for the Hicks side of my family. My great-grandfather is John Allen Hicks born in 1859. My grandfather his son was Starling Hicks born in Paldenco GA in 1894. I keep running into brick walls when I try to find their birth and death records. The most I have found is my grandfathers draft record, but I cant seem to find other records. Any information that would aid me in my search would be greatly appreciated.

The only HIX listed is Nancy HIX b.6 Nov 1743, Albermarle, Virginia. Died about 1800, Jackson, GA, married Samuel L. Haggard abt 1767, Surray, NC. he was born 1749/1750, Albermarle Co, Virginia, died 3 Jan 1811, Jackson, GA. There is nothing further about her family, other than their children, their son, James Haggard is I believe my line.

I am searching for information about the parents and family of Elijah Hicks He was born 1797 in Va and died in Washington Co AR. He married Elizabeth Farmer 4 Nov 1822 in Person Co NC. She was the daughter of Daniel Farmer and Sarah Tapely. She was born 1800 in VA and died 1850 in Murray Co GA.
George Caleb Hicks son of Elijah and Elizabeth Farmer Hicks was born 1829 in Person Co NC and died in 1899 in Johnson Co OK.
Elijah Hicks was in Murray Co Ga by 1850 and Johnson Co AR by 1860 Census and Perry Co Ar 1870 Census.
