The Hicks Newsletter I, was published 1972-1984. The Contents of the CD's, are from the original copies of
the Newsletter. Because of a house fire in 1977, some of the earlier issue copies are poor quality with some smoke damage,
but are readable. Because of this, there is no charge for the first 5 years, but are included in the CD, only to keep the
issues together.
The long awaited Hicks Newsletter I, is now available on 2 CD, in Adobe Acrobat PDF format, consisting of more
than 1,282 electronic pages files, 805.1 MB, also with a surname index for each Year.
Earlier issues were made by using a typewriter and mimeographed machine, and have some pages have ink bleeding on the
pages. Photos and illustrations have varying degrees of clarity.
These 3 compact disks are a great item for Hicks Researchers, as well as other connecting surnames. These CD's offer
the home genealogist the opportunity to own, at an affordable price, reproductions of the Hicks Newsletter I, & II,
that are usually only held in some regional libraries or in private collections. They can be an valuable resource ,
containing hundreds of Hicks lineages, from all over the United States and some other countries.
